Why NOT to Choose a Platinum Wedding Ring

Now, this is just a personal opinion, but we think that it is not a good idea to choose a platinum wedding ring.

Wedding rings can only be chosen successfully if the engagement ring can be compared against them so they do not ‘clash’. Unfortunately, decorative platinum wedding rings will probably draw attention away from the engagement ring; something that shouldn’t happen. There should be a bond between the couple that the wedding rings highlight and tell everyone about. Platinum wedding rings rarely match a standard engagement ring, so unless your engagement ring is platinum, we suggest avoiding platinum completely.
If you really must buy platinum, try choosing platinum wedding rings that can reflect both your types of personality. There really isn’t any right or wrong here providing you are both happy with your choice.

Buying A Quality Platinum Wedding Ring

These rings are meant to stay on the fingers and with some customs it is considered bad luck if they are removed. It is not worth trying to find the cheapest you can because it will undermine their importance. Wedding rings should not be bought cheaply because this is just false economy if after a couple, of years they look worn and tardy. Platinum wedding rings will be expensive anyway and being a hard metal, it should last; however, they really need to fit well otherwise they will not look their best.

Having your fingers measured for the rings can be done when you choose the style you want; this will ensure there isn’t a problem later on. There is always the possibility of a wedding ring sliding of one or both fingers at the ceremony or worse sill, not fitting at all. To have them professionally adjusted will take time so do not leave it until the last minute and expect the jeweler to carry out a professional job. The best way to do this is to buy the platinum wedding rings as soon as the wedding date has been set as it can take a couple of months or more to have this work carried out.

If you have a design in mind then that’s good but remember if you don’t it may take a while to choose a design you both like. Don’t forget that just because you have a great platinum wedding ring design today, it doesn’t mean you will feel the same way after you have worn it for a year or so choose wisely. Such a commitment demands that you buy rings that you love and will enjoy wearing for the rest of your life.
